Disney Dining Day 3

Eating at the French QuarterDay 3 saw us back to the Disneyland side of things. After a quick breakfast at the hotel we headed over to the parks, our first stop ToonTown. We visited with Mickey and Minnie went on the go coaster had an overall lovely morning. Then we took the train to New Orleans (one of the best parts of Disneyland if you ask me) and had lunch at the French Market Restaurant, it was a cold day so we were planning to go have soup at Harbour Galley but it was closed :( I had the four cheese macaroni with shiitake mushrooms and it was fabulous, really creamy sauce, baked to perfection crumb topping, yummy vegetables on the side. It was a great meal!Four CHeese Macaroni Meal

We decided to have our treat at the Mint Julep Bar right after lunch because we have all wanted to try Beignets and they were right there. Basically a really good , sugary donut. The family pack of six feed us perfectly as there were six of us in the party. Beignet.

For dinner we left the parks, first we did some shopping at Target ( we don’t have these yet in Canada, but they are coming!) then off to dinner at the amazing family favorite Fuddrucker’s. ( again we don’t have these were we live so we always try to find one if we are in the States). It was amazing, I had the triple cheese burger and the wedge fried which of course I dipped in the jalapeno cheese sauce. The funnest part of Fuddrucker’s is that you get to put on your own toppings with their fixin’s bar. Yummy and fun, makes for a great meal!three cheese burger

The kids meals come with cookies and man I was kind of wishing that the adult meals came with cookies too, because they looked so good! Oh well, I didn’t have room to fit in my belly anyways!cookie selections

Disney Dining Day 2

Meeko at the character breakfastThe second day of our Disney trip was awesome. Okay, you are right, everyday was awesome, I am going to have to think of a new way to describe it, with six Disney posts coming your way! We started the day out at the Chip and Dale Character Breakfast in the Grand Californian hotel. This has got to be one of the best breakfast buffets I have ever been too.Buffet Plate number 1

The Eggs Benedict were amazing, The fresh fruit was lovely. But the best part was this cranberry Orange cake I found hiding at the very end of the buffet table, possibly the best thing I ate the entire time I was there!Cranberry Orange Cake

And as an added bonus our waitress brought us a whole plate of small Mickey Waffles, to share which made the kids über happy.

For Supper we pre ordered the World of Color Picnics, which were good, however I don’t think we would do it again. It was kind of inconvenient to have to go back and get them and then the “reserved seating” was really just a Fastpass. I had the vegetarian picnic which came with a roasted veggie and hummus wrap, cous cous , and lemon cake. Both the wrap and cous cous were very good, the lemon cake however, let’s just say I took one bite and that was it, for me to not eat a planned dessert is pretty rare. But it was more like lemon paste than cake, so it got thrown out with the trash. My mom ordered the asian salmon, Asian Salmon Picnic

dad got the American fried chicken as well as all the kids. Everyone enjoyed their meals, but again at 15.99 a pop it is not something we would be doing again. All american PicnicVegetarian Picnic

Disney Dining Day 1

Star ToursWell we are back from vacation, and after 6 full days of Disney, I am kind of tuckered out! I must say that I usually can’t wait to get back into my kitchen, because as much as I love dining out ( I really , really do love it), I love cooking too. I was planning to get right back at it but instead I have been lying on the couch reading by the fire. It’s nice to get back to that too. So alas I must eventually feed my family again and I did get the ball rolling by doing a big grocery shopping trip today, at least that’s a start.Anyways on to the delicious eats from Disneyland! I couldn’t possibly tell you all I ate in one little blog so I am going to split it in to six, one for each day.

Day one- We arriCheese Pizzave at the parks raring to go. Our first stop of the day is Star Tours mainly due to the fact that my son thinks Jedi’s really exist and he is one. Okay not really but man does he ever love Star Wars. So we spend the majority of the day in Tomorrowland. Our first lunch stop was at Redd Rocket’s Pizza Port. They do not just serve pizza though, as you enter you are greeted by delicious and fresh looking salads, head on in and you will reach the pasta section and finally on to the pizza. Although the vegetarian pizza looked absolutely amazing, nobody wanted to share with me , and I needed to leave room for snacks, so my daughter and I shared the cheese pizza, and I must say it was better than I was expecting it to be.

Later in the afternoon time for snacks! Snacking is a must while in Disneyland or vacation  in general, and so we headed over to the famous Churro stands. These are my husbands favorites and so while he was not with us on this trip we thought of him as we bit into the warm cinnamon sugary goodness. Kids and their Churros

Supper was the meal I was most excited about because the new Jolly Holiday Bakery has opened and I was anxious to try it! Although I was pretty full from the eating adventures of the day, so I had a bowl of the chicken noodle soup, small yet satisfying and I finished it off with the decadent chocolate chunk brownie. Yes I realize our treat of the day was the churros, but I was a girl in a bakery, what else could I do but have another, and I will admit here and now that bakeries are my weakness. All resolve breaks when I see the rows of freshly baked cookies and cakes. Jolly Holiday bakery has been added to the ever-growing list of must eat at restaurants! Don’t miss it if your there!Mickey CookiesMore Treats
