I am love these Mexican Quasi Fast Food restaurants that are popping up. Much like subway, you get to pick what goes in your burrito. This restaurant is in the same vein as a Mucho Burrito type restaurant. Our family of five all quite liked. It is a fun change while dining out, and not too hard on the pocket books either. I had the Nachos, which were lovely and I would definitely order again. The rest of the family had smothered burritos, with rice and beans on the side. The kids weren’t crazy about the beans, but hey, they rarely are, so I just added them to my nacho plate and everyone was happy. Nice location, very clean, nice staff. All in all a nice fast dining experience.
Saturday was date night! Our kids had places to be so we each took one car dropping them off, and met in the middle. We tried out the (I think) new Blaze pizza in the Northeast. It is certainly a different type of pizza joint! You get to walk up to the counter and “make your own” pizza, although of course they do it for you. Similar to Subway you get to decide exactly what you are going to eat. All the way from the crust, to the finishing touches, you are in charge. We had an absolute blast. Not only fun, the pizza was absolutely delicious. The best pizza in town you ask? Maybe. The most fun pizza date in town? Certainly!
A rare treat to go out to a different mall. We usually stick to the one close to home. So while our girls were off with their friends, we got to hang out at Market mall with our lovely son. We decided to all go out to eat while we were there as well. We thought Moxie’s was in order, a restaurant that we used to frequent quite often, but have not been to in a long time. This was also our first time visiting this location. It was nice. It had a homey, almost romantic feeling. You can see the open kitchen, and the setting and staff were all white nice. We went on a Saturday night and got seated right away, which was nice as we were expecting at least a small wait. We decided to share instead of all ordering a whole entrée. We got the large Nachos which was so big the three of us couldn’t even finish it. That may be because we also shared (or the boys did anyways) and burger and fries. And of course, there is no visiting Moxie’s with out the delicious broccoli cheese soup, which we started with. All in all, it was a lovely night out with a portion of the lovely family. We would definitely visit again.
Ice Cream is not my most favourite dessert. I mean I like it. I prefer cake. Cake with Ice cream, that is a good time. But going out for ice cream, know that I love. Everyone gets to pick their own flavour, everyone is happy. For some reason eating a bowl of ice cream at home is just not the same, at all. Marble Slab has opted the ante. Not only do you get to pick your flavour , you get to pick what’s mixed in. So it’s a nice little treat now and again. The now have unlimited mix-in’s so we are much more likely to go, compared when you had to pay for each one individually. Word of advice, get the peanut butter sauce, best thing I have eaten in a very long time.
