We tried out a new pizza place this weekend. It was not in usual location Calgary, we were up for a day in Banff. We tried Rocky Mountain Flatbread, which is located on the bottom floor of one of the mall food courts. With many different options to choose from, plus a make your own option, we decided to share a few smalls and try out some different flavours. We went with the standard flavours, Margherita and Pepperoni, and went outside the box a bit and also tried the Apple Chicken. Both the Margherita and Pepperoni were hits, and although we liked the apple chicken, I’m not sure we would make an effort to go back and order it. The service was very friendly, the pizza was piping hot. The cheese was just as obey gooey as you could want, so all in all, it was a perfect little lunch.
Another date night. I know, two date nights in the same week, even with three kids. Let me tell you parents of young ones, once they are old enough to stay home alone, date nights become SO much easier. So hubby and I decided to go out and celebrate an anniversary. Not of marriage, not even of dating, but of the day we met. Yes, we know the exact date. We didn’t really go to all that trouble, but we did leave the kids at home and go eat some dinner out. I really was in a quandary of were I wanted to go, and if in doubt I always chose a pub. I love pub food. Not to pricey, always delicious. We even went to one very close to where we live to keep the driving to a minimum. As soon as we walked in I knew I was going to love it. It has great decor. Then we got to the menu, and there were so many options that sounded delicious. Always a good sign when you have a hard time choosing what to order. I had the Brick Street Curry. A different curry is served everyday, on the day we went it was Almond Chicken. It was great! Totally enjoyed it! Hubby had the Spinach Salad with Steelhead trout. I didn’t try the fish (not a seafood fan), but the salad was also delicious! Hubby also had a side of fries, with gravy, and that was the golden ticket. Best Gravy Ever. I stole more than my fair share. This is definitely a place we will be going back too!
Saturday was date night! Our kids had places to be so we each took one car dropping them off, and met in the middle. We tried out the (I think) new Blaze pizza in the Northeast. It is certainly a different type of pizza joint! You get to walk up to the counter and “make your own” pizza, although of course they do it for you. Similar to Subway you get to decide exactly what you are going to eat. All the way from the crust, to the finishing touches, you are in charge. We had an absolute blast. Not only fun, the pizza was absolutely delicious. The best pizza in town you ask? Maybe. The most fun pizza date in town? Certainly!
Well, we did something that is oh so rare for us. We ordered pizza! It was Survivor night(one of the rare TV shows we all watch as a family) and decided to splurge with some pizza….and wings…and chips…and pop… heck there were even carrots and dip in there. We decided on Pizza 73 because they have great mega meal packs, that really a good deal when feeding your family. Plus, you get to pick what kind of sauce you want, and that was kind of fun. Maybe it has just been that long since we have ordered but I honestly did not know about this option. So we ordered a chicken and tomato pizza with pesto sauce, and a double pepperoni. We had the lemon pepper wings which were lovely, not a lot of lemon flavour but pepper there was a plenty. We were all quite pleased and if ordering pizza again, we will probably be back here.
