Blueberry Smoothies

Blueberry SmoothieWhen picks of the month come around I am never surprised when our youngest picks a beverage. She likes to have a little fun in her drink, and no, I certainly do not mean alcohol. She likes smoothies the absolute best, and would quite happily have one everyday if I was so inclined to make them for her. Me, not so much. It is rare that I ever have a smoothie of any variety. So she picks them for the month, and I make them for her and the rest of the family. This one was a hit! Apparently the dash of nutmeg was a lovely touch, although as I didn’t try it, you’ll have to take hubby’s word.

Recipe from Allrecipes

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp. white sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • dash nutmeg
  1. Blend ingredients together until smooth.
  2. Pour into glass. Serve with straw.
  3. Drink and enjoy!

Sharpay Smoothies – (Strawberry , Banana)

Sharpay SmoothiesOur littlest really loves smoothies, and often picks them for “picks of the month”. Sometimes she even picks from an actually cook book or in the case of this one the High School Musical 2 Party Planner which she was reading before bed, just for fun. We are in fact not planning a high school musical party, but at least we can enjoy the smoothies.

  • 2 bananas
  • 1 cup frozen whole strawberries
  • 1 cup vanilla yogurt
  • 3/4 cup milk

1. Peel bananas, and place in chunks in blender. Add remaining ingredients. Blend.

2. Drink and enjoy!

Tropical Pineapple Smoothies

smoothieI know what you are going to say, Tropical Pineapple smoothies in December. Exactly what I was thinking, however I let my kids each pick one thing that we will be eating (or drinking) a month. This is what my youngest chose this month. I guess she hasn’t figured out the seasonal thing. Oh well, they were super yummy, and super easy, just a tad cold for these chilly December days.

Original Recipe from Allrecipes

  •   1 (8 ounce) can unsweetened crushed pineapple
  •   1/2 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
  •   3 tablespoons sugar
  •   1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  •   1/4 teaspoon coconut extract
  •   6 ice cubes

1. Put ingredients in blender. Blend. Yup, that’s it, pretty easy!
