The Punchliners Comedy Brunch – Carnival Cruise 2013

Bread Basket - Carnival CruiseThis is the last of the cruise menu posts. The Comedy Brunch. This was the last day of the cruise for us, before an evening in Victoria B.C. It actually worked well for us to have a big meal at lunch on this day as we got into port right at dinner time, so we took ourselves to the comedy brunch. Or just brunch you could say. A comedian comes in every hour from 9-12 (or 1 maybe) and does a little routine while you eat. We timed it so we would be ordering right before the comedy show. The comedian was there for less than 10 minutes, so I guess you could call it the comedy-less brunch. Oh well. The menu was the largest and most diverse menu on the cruise, and we ordered a lot because we just couldn’t decide. We also wasted a lot, eyes bigger than our stomachs. But we did finish off the whole helping of Mac’n’Cheese because that was tasty stuff! Okay so here is the menu!Caesar Salad with Chicken- Carnival Cruise

Mexican Churros- Carnival CruiseAlright I already stated that we ordered a lot and it is true, we did. Clarke ordered the Caesar Salad with fried chicken and the Carne y Huevos, I ordered the Breakfast Burrito with a side of hash brown potatoes, plus we shared the Mac ‘n’ Cheese with bacon. That was a lot of food, and we probably wouldn’t have ordered dessert after all that, however you order dessert the same time as your meal. Who knew we would be so full. Clarke ordered the Carmealized Cheesecake, I ordered the Banana Cream Pie, plus we wanted to try the churros, so ordered that to share. Whoa now that is a lot of food on its way to the table for just two relatively small people. Then after all the ordering was done they brought the bread basket. This was not your ordinary bread basket it was filled with, lemon loaf, date loaf, chocolate caramel muffin, croissants, buns, Danish’s, cinnamon buns, all so good. I grabbed that chocolate caramel muffin right away, so good, and then proceeded to enjoy nibbles of all the other breads. Carbs, so delicious! So I was getting full before all that food we ordered even came, then they brought the Mac ‘n’ Cheese and seriously you have got to order that, so good. My breakfast burrito also good, they hash browns, delicious, so basically my stomach was filling quickly and the food was still coming. Dessert was served and honestly, I didn’t really care for any thank goodness or I may have imploded. Neither Clarke or I liked the churros at all, the banana cream pie was only okay ,I did not feel inspired to have more than on bite. All in all  though if you are going on a cruise, this is the one meal you should not miss!cheesecake - carnival cruiseBanana Cream Pie- Carnival Cruise

Carnival Cruise Lunch Menus – Miracle, 2013

Tracy Arm FjordAs opposed to the dinner menus I have decided to write one long post about all the lunch options. The first option is to go and sit in the dining room and order just like dinner. There are starters , mains and desserts the only difference being you go whenever you want and get seated, usually with another group. We meet some fun people this way. (Hello, Vicki and Virgil from Alabama), you could also check out the buffet which is different everyday and themed. When we were there we saw a French , Italian, and American theme. We chose the buffet more than anything else due to ease and it is by far the fastest. Of course, you can also go to the 24 hour pizzeria, which was Clarke’s favorite, the grill that serves up Burgers, Hot Dogs and Chicken Fingers, or the Deli. I will include all the menus below. We actually only went to the dining room twice, so I will include those menus as well, and what we ordered. Okay here it goes, the first dining room lunch experience we were cruising through racy Arm Fjord, so we asked to sit by the window and were greeted by awe-inspiring sites. Notice above, it was truly a beautiful site. On this lunch menu was the following:Curried Apple Soup -Carnival Cruise

Clarke and I both started with the Broccoli Soup and Clarke enjoyed it so much he immediately asked for another. So two soups for him, one for me. Clarke also had two entrees both the basa fillet and the Chateaubriand. I enjoyed the Half Spring Chicken, one of the best things on the whole cruise. Dessert was Amaretto Cake for the both of us. Very good as well. Amaretto Cake

Carnival Miracle – Dinner Night 5

Black Bean EnchiladasNight 5, This day we visited Juneau Alaska, the capital city. We did not book an excursion on this day we just walked around the town looking in shops, enjoying our time. We were only in port until 1 in the afternoon so this was a bit of a shorter day and then back to the ship. We got to enjoy a few art auctions while on board, so if you are planning a cruise I recommend this fun little addition. Plus there is free champagne included, so you can really enjoy yourselves. We didn’t intend to actually buy art, however a picture went up that we both really liked so come home with art we did. The art auctions were one of the highlights of the trip for both of us.
