Do you all have a waffle iron sitting in your pantry that gets used up a couple of times a year. I do, although it is well worth the space it takes up when I do get around to making homemade Belgium waffles topped with fruit and whipped cream. Just talking about it makes me want to whip a batch up! Last week I previewed the picture over on my Facebook page, and finally here is the recipe. What a fun idea, making French toast in the waffle machine. What do you use your waffle iron for, besides the obvious breakfast treat?
Recipe from Allrecipes
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp white sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 10 slices white bread ( I used the really thick Texas toast)
- Pancake syrup
1. Mix together eggs, milk, vanilla, sugar and cinnamon. Dunk in bread slices 1 at a time and place on pre heated waffle iron. Close and cook until done. Repeat with remaining bread.
2. Serve with syrup (and butter if you like).
3. Eat and enjoy!
MMMM!!!! Waffles & french toast combined into 1 tasty breakfast!
