Of all the recipes in all the world I like this one the best. My favorite recipe. It is kind of funny, I mean it has no chocolate, no peanut butter, I just can’t seem to get enough of the melt in your mouth buttery goodness. The only reason I originally made these is because I had buttermilk in my fridge that needed to be used up, now I buy the buttermilk just for these. I like to slather them with extra butter and a layer of whatever jam we have a the moment but they are pretty versatile so enjoy them however you like! ( But seriously try the butter and jam thing).
Original recipe found at Allrecipes
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 1 1/4 cups buttermilk
1. Mix first three ingredients together in medium bowl. Add melted butter and buttermilk and mix until smooth.
2. Roll out on a lightly floured surface till about 1 inch thick. Cut into 8 equal sized pieces.
3. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake for about 10 minutes at 425 degrees. (until bottoms are just brown).
Tips- Best served warm……..with butter and jam.
