I just spent another lovely day with my family in the hot, hot sun. It’s 30 here, which in our house is translated as the oven stays off! Our after church dining adventures took us to the Zoo today. It was so nice to be back as it has been 2 years since we went. It was nice to see some of the old favorites and some things they have added and refurbished. I realize that the restaurant is just a cafeteria, but I love the options they give you. There are sandwiches from Spolumbos, salads, soups, burgers, hot dogs, chicken, fish and usually at least 2 specials of the day. Today’s was pasta with marinara, and steak sandwich with sweet potato fries. They have tonnes of goodies too, chips, candy bars, ice cream novelties, baked goods, cotton candy. So much to choose from. It is quite pricey for what you get, however I think that is to be expected at an amusement type location as you pay extra for the added convenience of not having to lug a big lunch bag around with you all day. Today’s choices were a cheese pizza for Jordan, quite tasty. cinnamon bun for Autumn a little dry. Erik had the burger and fries and said they were really good, Clarke had a grilled cheese and loved it, and I had the very un-healthy(but sometimes you just gotta eat what you want) and delicious chili-cheese fries.
