As much as I love to cook, everybody needs a day off once in awhile. And because I absolutely love eating out, my wonderful husband and I decided years ago to make a family tradition of going out every week after church. This is especially nice since my husband is a waiter, and after he works Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening we are all much in need of some catch up time. So sunday lunches we drive all over the city, trying new places, going to old favorites, and having a wonderful time in our city. Sunday evenings we raid the fridge for leftovers and voila, mom gets a day off every single week. I love Sundays.
This week we tried a Calgary favorite that we had never been too. It’s called Chicken on the Way, located at 1443 Kensington Road NW. We all really liked it, fries were crisp, gravy was tasty, chicken was juicy and tender. The best part was the corn fritters. Deep-fried balls of dough dipped in honey. So good! So I must say, now that I have been there, we will probably be back. If you are planning on eating there, there is no indoor seating, so make sure it is not too cold or windy out.

Would you believe I’ve never had Chicken on the Way? I’ve heard so many great things about them, and never ventured out there yet! Thanks for your post and your information about seating!
